About Me
Hi, I'm Dana. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, where I was born and raised. As a first-generation Arab American, my own experiences have deeply shaped the way I show up as a therapist. Growing up between cultures gave me a firsthand understanding of navigating identity, belonging, family expectations, and the complexity of holding multiple worlds at once.
I work with adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences. Before starting my private practice, I worked in hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient settings, where I had the privilege of supporting people through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory and EMDR, while drawing from other evidence-based approaches to meet each client's unique needs. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may no longer be serving you, process experiences that continue to feel heavy, and build new ways of relating to yourself and others with greater compassion and intention.
I'm especially passionate about working with Arab Americans, first-generation individuals, and people from other marginalized communities. Many of my clients are carrying the weight of cultural expectations, intergenerational trauma, systemic barriers, or the experience of living between different identities. My hope is to offer a space where you don't have to spend time translating your experiences or explaining why they matter. Therapy can be a place to feel seen, understood, and accepted exactly as you are while creating meaningful change. I believe healing can exist alongside curiosity, honesty, and even humor. We can hold space for the hard things while also making room for moments of lightness along the way.
When I'm not in the therapy room, you'll usually find me practicing yoga, baking something new, going for a run, planning my next trip, spending time with family and friends, or hanging out with my cat, Olive.

Common Questions
Are sessions in person or online?
Sessions are currently offered virtually to California residents only.
What are your session rates?
A 60-minute session is $180. I am paneled with certain insurance companies and also accept private pay. If I do not accept your insurance, I can provide a monthly superbill for clients with out-of-network (OON) benefits to submit for possible reimbursement. What happens during a consult call?
During the free 15-minute consultation call, we’ll briefly talk about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. Using bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements or tapping—it reduces the emotional intensity of difficult memories. EMDR is especially helpful for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms, and can also support people struggling with negative self-beliefs or past emotional wounds.
Do you only offer EMDR therapy?
Not at all. I offer traditional talk therapy, EMDR, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
